Department of Public Expenditure and Reform / Civil Service
After completing my degree in Human Resource Management from National College of Ireland, I then worked in the Retail and HR industry for a number of years. I decided I wanted to develop my HR skills and knowledge in a new environment and felt the Civil Service was the challenge I was looking for. I knew that the Civil Service would allow me to further my career whilst still achieving a good work/life balance and that really appealed to me.
I am now working as a HR Business Partner in the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. So far I have felt very welcomed by my colleagues. My first few weeks have been all about introductions, familiarising myself with policy and procedure and getting to know the ways of working. I am looking forward to using the knowledge gained in these first few weeks, together with my previous experience to support and drive the HR Business Partner unit forward.
