Civil Service Industrial and Employee Relations Graduate Programme

The Civil Service is now recruiting graduates for the position of Administrative Officer from a wide variety of disciplines in the follwing areas of Business/Finance, Human Resources, General and for the Civil Service Industrial and Employee Relations Graduate Programme for 2019.

The Administrative Officer (AO) grade is an exciting and challenging role and the main graduate recruitment grade for the Civil Service! As an Administrative Officer, you could find yourself working on policy, researching legislation and strategies and making an impact on issues that shape government policy on a national and international level. The role can include tasks such as:

  • Policy and strategy formulation across the spectrum of economic, financial, international, environmental and social issues;
  • Researching and drafting proposals relating to policy issues and legislation;
  • Acting as junior managers in Government Departments;
  • Providing successful candidates with the opportunity to progress to middle management.

The closing date for the position of Administration Officer and for the Civil Service Industrial and Employees Relations Programme is 3pm on Thursday, 11th of October.

New Graduate Programme

In conjunction with the Administrative Officer positions, we are running a Civil Service Industrial and Employee Relations Programme. This will be launching this January and the closing date to apply is 3pm on Thursday, 11th of October.

What is the programme?
The programme is designed to combine practical work experience and the opportunity to gain an industry recognised Professional Diploma in Industrial and Employee Relations. Participants will spend 8 months in the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform, 8 months in the Workplace Relations Commission and 8 months in the Department of Agriculture Food & Marine working as an Administrative Officer. The successful candidates will work on a range of important Industrial and Employee Relations issues in the Civil and Public Service. Who can apply?
The Civil Service Industrial and Employee Relations Graduate Programme is open to all graduates with a primary honours degree or Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Studies, Legal Studies and/or other HR related disciplines.
