Pride 2019

The Public Appointments Service is committed to playing its role to create a civil and public service that reflects society and the communities it
serves. We are currently developing a Diversity
and Inclusion Strategy in the context of our new Corporate Strategic Plan 2020-2022. This
Strategy will embody our commitment to
develop and implement inclusive recruitment practices for everyone, including for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or who identify themselves in another way.

Publicjobs.ie is committed to equality of opportunity in all our recruitment and selection practices and in our workplace. All candidates
can be assured that we promote equality of opportunity regardless of gender, marital or
family status, sexual orientation, religious belief, age, disability, race or membership of the
Traveller Community. To ensure this is part of our application process, we ask voluntary questions for Equality Monitoring purposes to all candidates registering on Publicjobs.ie.

Publicjobs.ie will be marching at the Dublin Pride Parade, alongside our friends and colleagues from the Civil and Public Service. This parade takes place every year, as part of Pride, to celebrate diversity and inclusion of LGBTQ+ people and their families. In 2018, over 60,000 people marched at the parade and this year, we are delighted to be joining them.

Publicjobs.ie will also host a Panel Discussion on the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in the workplace and what we can do to encourage inclusiveness in our workplace. This discussion will inform our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

For more information about what other Departments are doing see Public Service Pride Guide, #ProudToWorkForIreland. It is also very encouraging that the Department of Justice and Equality will shortly be launching a LGBTI National Strategy and that inclusive workplaces is a central part of the strategy.

Publicjobs.ie would like to wish everyone a happy Pride 2019!
