About the Hospital
Wexford General Hospital is a 270-bed acute Model 3 hospital located in the South East corner of Ireland. It provides both scheduled and unscheduled care across a broad range of specialties to the population of County Wexford and surrounding counties, including Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, South Tipperary, and maternity services to Wicklow. The hospital is part of the HSE Dublin & South East Health Region.
The hospital has well-established care pathways with University Hospital Waterford and specialist centres in Dublin, such as St. Vincent’s University Hospital and Children Health Ireland. Wexford General Hospital also participates in shared care programmes for patients attending maternity, paediatric, and other specialist services outside the region.
