Today, a dedicated online hub for medical consultant roles recruited by publicjobs has been launched in partnership with the HSE.
The partnership will see publicjobs manage the independent recruitment and selection process for permanent medical consultant roles on behalf of the HSE.
Now, medical consultant roles can be viewed in one, easy to access online hub. Twelve area specialities will be recruited on the hub including surgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, anaesthesiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, general internal medicine, pathology, radiology, public health, orthodontics, and ophthalmology.
The HSE is keen to appeal to specialists who have trained and are already working in Ireland, those working overseas, as well as specialists who trained in other jurisdictions. To support candidates’ consideration for the roles, the hub details the requirements needed to work in the Irish health system as well as information on housing, taxation, banking, driving, and education. All vacancies are easily searchable utilising speciality, county, or keyword filters.
With over 130,000 employees, the HSE is the largest employer in Ireland, and one of the most progressive. There are many benefits to working in the Irish health service including permanent contracts of employment, opportunities and funding for continuing medical education and research, an attractive public service pension and generous annual leave, public holiday entitlements and flexible working.
Anne Marie Hoey, HSE National Director for Human Resources, said,
“With demand for medical staff soaring across the developed world, recruitment and retention remain key priorities to enable us to continue to deliver the best care for our patients and service users.
We are operating in a competitive global recruitment market, and it is vital that we can both retain our medical students in the Irish health service and attract graduates from overseas. The aim of the new Medical Consultant Hub is to highlight the benefits of working in Ireland and make the application process as straightforward as possible.”
Margaret McCabe, Interim Chief Executive Officer, publicjobs, added,
“At publicjobs, we are pleased to support the HSE in their recruitment of medical consultants in Ireland. As the centralised provider of recruitment, assessment, and selection services across the civil and public service we are committed to providing an open and transparent recruitment process to identify top-quality candidates for these roles.”
