A big congratulations to our Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Siobhán McKenna who won the Diversity Champion Award 2023 at the CIPD Ireland HR Awards on Friday 24 February.

These awards celebrate excellence in HR, L&D, and people management. It was great to see so many organisations from the public sector nominated. Other public sector finalists included An Garda Síochána, Department of Social Protection, Department of Public Expenditure NDP Delivery & Reform, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland, Tusla - Child and Family Agency, Clare County Council.

The Diversity Champion Award celebrates an advocate who is championing actions to improve the working experience, representation, and engagement of underrepresented group/s, removing barriers in employment, all whilst serving as an inspiration to others.

Siobhán was able to demonstrate how she has led positive and innovative interventions to enable talented employees to realise their full potential as well as tackling bias. Judges were looking for actions such as policy setting, hiring strategies, employee development and voice, community support and network creation.

We are delighted that Siobhán's valuable work has been recognised in this way.

Well done to all of the other winners and nominees!
